Karen Smith has served as Chief Financial Officer of Nexus Multi Academy Trust for four years. The Trust comprises 19 special schools and one mainstream primary school, operating across Nottinghamshire, Sheffield, Rotherham, and Doncaster. Prior to this, Karen was CFO of a six-school primary Trust based in Sheffield. Her earlier career was in the Civil Service, where she held various analytical roles in the Home Office and Department for Education, before moving to a Finance Business Partner position in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
